Features of a Minot State multimedia studies degree

Art galleries
Galleries are critical classrooms for the art student. The campus boasts three unique galleries, including the Northwest Arts Center, which is nationally known for its diverse exhibitions of contemporary and traditional art. It is also home to an estimable collection of artwork and historical artifacts.
Learning environment
The art department is small enough to foster strong student/instructor mentoring and large enough to attract quality professors who are engaged in outstanding research. Small classes ensure you’ll receive personal attention from your instructors, engage in collaboration with classmates, and maximize your learning experience in our studios, classrooms, and galleries.
Community
University art opportunities include Art Club, Flat Tail Press, and NOTSTOCK, our popular arts festival. Find your inspiration in the community through the Taube Museum of Art, Artspace Suite 1 Gallery, or get involved with numerous local art groups.
Student-led media
KMSU, Minot State’s student-run television and radio station, provides opportunities to produce and create content ready for the air. The student newspaper, the Red & Green, runs both print and online editions and offers experience in writing, editing, photography, and layout.

Art department scholarship
The Art Department has awarded over $50,000 in scholarships in the past decade to art students with an average awardee receiving nearly $1,200. Awards are based on the quality of applications and student portfolios. You are encouraged to apply at MinotStateU.edu/msuart.

Accreditation
Minot State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (hlcommission.org), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
