MSU launches new virtual tour
Minot State University has launched a new virtual tour on its Web site that is generating positive reviews. The virtual tour includes both video and voice-over so that viewers can not only see the university but also get detailed descriptions about academic programs and student services as well as buildings and facilities.
The tour may be viewed at: www.minotstateu.edu/tour
The tour video was created by David Bauer of Minot, a multimedia major, for his senior project with assistance from MSU faculty members Neil Roberts of the broadcasting program and Bill Harbort of the graphic design program. Bauer also wrote the script for the voice-over.
MSU students Lucas Havig of Minot, a senior marketing major, and Vanessa Anderson, Jamestown, a junior sociology and German major, provided the voices for the tour.
The new tour is proving to be an effective recruitment tool because students from a distance can gain a much better feel for the university's actual environment. The athletic coaches have already commented that it has been helpful when recruiting students from other areas.
